Album or Friendship Quilts

Whether it be for a quilt guild member in honor of their service, as a going away gift for a dear friend, or as a way to leave a legacy. Album quilts have always been a part of our quilting heritage.

There are several variations of the traditional album block. A few of which are pictured below. Many other blocks will also work for this purpose just as well. I have a few ideas below as well as a pattern for our "Friendship Hearts" block.

Other ideas might include handprint blocks, photo blocks, or blocks that include special themes of meaning to the recipient of the quilt. No matter the occasion, the receiver of one of these special quilts is truly blessed indeed.

Friendship Hearts
Pattern
We hope you will enjoy our "Friendship Hearts" block pattern. This is a good group quilt as none of the muslin backing touches from block to block so it will still work even if the backing fabric is not handed out. The pattern should print up about 6". You can of course enlarge to any size you would like.
