Piecing Alignments
The following examples show how to align some of the most common problem pieces for beginners.
Triangles As you can see in the diagram when piecing rows of triangles you need to overlap the pieces leaving 1/4" tails at each end.
Diamonds As in the triangles when you piece diamonds you need to overlap the pieces leaving 1/4" tails at each end.
Flying Geese In making the flying geese section you can see in the example there is an 1/4" tail at the tip of the geese. In the finished section there should be a 1/4" allowance at the tip.
